Mr. Anjanikumar Choudhari graduated
in Mathematics and Statistics and
obtained his Masters in Management
Studies from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute,
Mumbai
Mr. Choudhari joined the Mahindra
& Mahindra Group in 1999 as Senior
Advisor, Infrastructure Development
Sector. He was appointed Executive
Vice President responsible for Human
Resources and Corporate Services and
joined the Management Board in 2000.
He was also responsible for Corporate
Communications and the Spares Business
Unit. In February, 2004, he was appointed
Executive Vice Chairman of Bristlecone
Inc. USA and involved in the merger
of Bristlecone with Mahindra Consulting
Ltd.
In January 2005, Mr. Choudhari was
appointed President - Farm Equipment
Sector. He is the Chairman of Mahindra
USA Inc., and is on the Board of the
Company's joint venture in China ,
that of Mahindra & Mahindra South
Africa (Pty) Ltd., and continues to
be on the Board of Bristlecone Inc.
In India , Mr. Choudhari is on the
Board of Bristlecone India Limited,
Mahindra Gujarat Tractor Ltd., Mahindra
& Mahindra Financial Services
Ltd. and Punjab Tractors Limited .
Before joining Mahindra & Mahindra
Group, Mr. Choudhari worked for 30
years with Hindustan Lever Limited
in India and with Unilever in China
. At Hindustan Lever, he held senior
positions in marketing and sales for
their soaps, detergents and foods
businesses. He was the Sales Director
and Vice President in charge of the
foods business. In China , he was
the Vice Chairman of Unilever Shanghai
Sales Company.
While with Hindustan Lever, Mr. Choudhari
was deputed to the Government of Maharashtra
to set up MAFCO and his services were
later loaned to the Government of
India as Marketing Advisor to the
Ministry of Industries.
In the past, Mr. Choudhari has been
a member of the Managing Committee
of the PHD Chamber of Commerce &
Industry, Chairman of the Marketing
Committee, Calcutta Management Association
and has served on the Executive Committee
of the Fair Trade Practices Association
of India and the Internal Trade Committee
of ASSOCHAM. He has been associated
as a part time advisor to the Ministry
of Health, Government of India for
developing an effective national small
family campaign. He has been a guest
lecturer at the IIMs at Calcutta and
Bangalore . Mr. Choudhari won the
Rotary International Award for Vocational
Excellence and Contribution to Professional
Development in India in 1995. He was
also the Founder President of the
Shanghai India Business Association.
